The portable production control system is suitable for use in outside broadcasts or in the studio and monitors SD and HD devices connected directly in a fly-away configuration. The system is designed to be user-friendly and flexible, thereby allowing television production costs to be reduced, and offers a cost-effective way to enter digital and HD production.
The Nexus system comprises the modules Nexus Director, Nexus Replay & Effects (RFX), Nexus Engineer, as well as customised software and controls. With Nexus Director, the program director can switch complex productions via two touchscreens. Using near-field/partial-vision monitoring, a control fitting and a graphical user interface, the user controls the software features in order to simplify complicated transitions and video effects. The software also controls other foreign-structured facilities, including the video server, graphics and audio. The entire system takes up less space than traditional technology and requires less power and cooling than conventional legacy systems.
Through the use of leading disk-server technology (including Thomson Grass Valley & EVS), the Nexus RFS is able to deliver finished replays complete with effects with a single operator. With a customised user interface and software, Nexus simplifies the recording and playback process while being connected to both Nexus Director and the vision mixer. This gives the Nexus RFX user a complete portfolio with automated effects.
