In cooperation with the cooking channel tv.gusto, Pixelpark AG has developed a multichannel-capable IPTV cooking portal. The pilot project will be presented at CeBIT in Hanover from March 09 to 15 (hall 26, booth C 68). Pixelpark and tv.gusto are presenting an application that serves the IPTV and Mobile channels simultaneously.
The IPTV cooking portal offers an extensive search function for recipes and all programs. As a new feature, a mobile channel for sending current information about the programs has been integrated alongside delivery via IPTV. With this extension, viewers can have recipes and the associated shopping lists sent directly to their mobile phones. This allows each user to conveniently read all ingredients on their mobile phone during their next shopping trip. Shopping is also conveniently possible – viewers order products from the tv.gusto shop from their television chair using the remote control.
“With the new IPTV offering, tv.gusto will be able to offer its viewers even more convenience in the future. For advertising customers, our approach means a more refined target-group address,” summarizes tv.gusto managing director Jörg Schütte.
“The IPTV cooking portal impresses through the emotional strength of conventional television, personalized services via IPTV and services for mobile use,” postulates Joachim Wildt, Director Media and Communication Industry at Pixelpark AG. “For us, it is important to show market participants how a link between traditional and new media can be implemented meaningfully.”
Alongside tv.gusto and Pixelpark, the Cologne production house spin TV and the Media System Design department at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences also contributed to implementing the IPTV service.
