The Foundation for Technology, Innovation and Research Thuringia (STIFT) has commissioned Studio Hamburg MCI with the lighting and stage technology as well as the audio and video technology for the new Erfurt media application and start-up centre (MAGZ). Fischer Medienberatung, Hanover, has been commissioned centrally with management, marketing & sales of the MAGZ.
The main goal and intention of the MAGZ is to promote media development in the Erfurt region. Because of the immediate proximity to the children’s channel of ARD and ZDF, which is produced by the MDR state broadcasting centre Thuringia, it is expected that small and medium-sized companies from the production and service industry for audiovisual media in particular will locate at the MAGZ.
At the MAGZ, MCI is equipping the three studios and the central technical rooms, video control room, audio control room and ZGR, with HD technology. The core systems are Sony HD cameras and video mixers, an Evertz video router, a Lawo mixer/routing system, a GVG video server and Focus displays with multiviewer technology as flexible monitor walls. Together with an infrastructure based on fibre-optic connections for cabling across rooms, Studio Hamburg MCI is implementing in this project what is probably the most far-reaching implementation of currently available technologies. The centre is to be handed over at the beginning of the second half of 2007.
