Links and embedded videos are preserved as part of the historical record.At NAB, AJA presented an impressive interface for connecting to Apple computers: the Io HD is an addition to the Io series and is the first device to support Apple’s new ProRes 422 format. With the Io HD, it is possible to edit HD material (10-bit, 4:2:2) in real time on a Mac Book Pro via the Firewire 800 interface.
The device offers up-, down- and cross-conversion. A wealth of interfaces is distributed across the back, including HD-SDI, HDMI, RS-422, Genlock, Balanced Analog, AES and LTC Timecode.
The model is also suitable for mobile use and can be used on the road to transfer material directly to a Mac Book Pro. At a price of 3,495 US dollars, it is available from July 2007 according to the manufacturer.
For the Xena line-up of Xena 2K, LH and LS, the manufacturer announced an upgrade that supports the Adobe CS3 products Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop. It also allows cooperation with Mac, Windows XP and Vista computers. The update is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2007.
For Kona3, KonaLHe and KonaL, AJA showed the beta of the 4.0 driver, which supports Final Cut Studio 2. The final version of the driver is expected to be available in about a month.
