In the joint campaign by Sony Professional and slashCAM, emerging filmmakers can to use a high-quality HDV camera from Sony for four weeks for their own project. An HVR-Z1E, an HVR-V1E and an HVR-A1E are available to choose from. In addition, participants receive the opportunity to present their film project to a broad audience in a production diary at http://www.slashcam.de. At the end of the campaign, a jury – consisting of employees of Sony and the slashCAM editorial team- selects the best film and awards it an HVR-V1E HDV camera from Sony.
At http://www.slashcam.de/shootandcut, a web form is now available with which interested filmmakers can apply to participate in the “Shoot and Cut” Award. For this, they must briefly introduce themselves and the planned film project. The slashCAM editorial team then checks whether the application is suitable, meaning whether the applicant already has a certain amount of filmmaking experience and whether the proposed project is based on a promising idea. In the next step, a total of 12 participants are drawn from the valid applications. There are two production seasons: The first starts in early August, the second in early October.
Anyone who wants to participate can apply starting immediately and should specify the preferred production period as well as the preferred camera type.
The registration deadline for the first season is August 19.
