In a worldwide contest, Europe’s largest social-bookmarking provider is looking for a new visual identity. On all six portals in China, Russia,

France, Germany, the Spanish and in the English version, web designers, graphic designers and all other interested parties are now called upon to take part in one of the

largest crowdsourcing operations to have existed so far.

An international expert jury will review the twelve designs determined after a preceding user vote and identify the three best submissions. The final logo will be used worldwide, and prize money totalling 12,000 US dollars awaits the winners.

As a genuine Web2.0 service, the social-bookmarking portal wants to let its users participate in the decision: “A worldwide contest seemed to us the best means of actively involving our users in the design and the decision for a new logo” says founder and construktiv Managing Director Kai Tietjen.

Starting today, participants have just under four weeks to design a logo and upload it to the portal. The logos will then be presented to all Mister Wong users for voting. The best twelve designs after this user vote will be evaluated by an international jury of Web2.0 experts and design specialists.
