Emmy nomination for “Everyone Loves Jimmy”

Another Emmy nomination for a production by the Bavaria Film Group: “Everyone Loves Jimmy”, the sitcom produced by Bavaria Film on behalf of RTL (producer 1st season: Stephan Bechtle/producer 2nd season: Peter Fröhlich), must now hold its own in the “Comedy” category against competition from Brazil (“The Amateurs”/TV Globo), England (“Little Britain Abroad”/BBC Comedy/Little Britain Productions), Japan (“NEO – Office Chuckles”/NHK) and South Africa (“Sorted”/TOM Pictures).

The organizers have just announced this during Mipcom in Cannes. The best foreign TV productions will be honored by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on November 19 in New York.

The Bavaria Film Group has already been honored twice at the International Emmy in this millennium: in 2002 with Heinrich Breloer’s “The Manns” (Bavaria Film) and in 2003 with the Colonia Media production “My Father” with Götz George.

“Everyone Loves Jimmy” had already been nominated in the “Sitcom” category for the “Golden Rose” in Lucerne as well as for the German Television Award. The ensemble of the series includes, among others, Eralp Uzun, Tayfun Bademsoy, Meral Perin, Sabahat Bademsoy, Siggi Kautz Jr., Gülcan Karahanci and Maya Haddad. Sophie Allet-Coche directed both seasons of the series. The series had been realized by Bavaria Film in cooperation with Askania Media in Berlin.
