Munich, October 16, 2007. 8.7 million cinema visitors in Germany cannot be wrong: “Ice Age 2 – Now It’s Thawing” (25.11., 20:15 hrs, Premiere 1 and HD) was the number-one crowd-puller in the 2006 cinema year. On the occasion of the German first broad-cast of the animated hit, Premiere presents a true cartoon fireworks display for the whole family on the weekend of November 24 and 25: 16 top films of the genre are on the programme – fun in the home living room is thereby pre-programmed.

Before prehistoric squirrel Scrat, mammoth Manny and sloth Sid have to escape an apocalyptic glacier melt in the furious second part of the successful comedy “Ice Age”, Premiere presents further high-calibre TV premieres in the “Animation Alarm” programme event: In “Hunting Fever” (24.11., 20:15 hrs, Premiere 1 and HD), the domesticated grizzly Boog is released into the wild at exactly the time when hunting season begins – a precarious situation for the good-natured giant. And finally – as the perfect preparation for the main film – with the short film “Ice Age – No Time for Nuts” (25.11., 20:00 hrs, Premiere 1), there is another adventure with the cult Scrat that has never before been broadcast in Germany. The prehistoric hybrid creature of rat and squirrel, which tries in vain to secure a nut in the film, apparently handles film awards more skilfully: The short animation was nominated for an Oscar and won the

renowned Annie Award.

Alongside these TV premieres, Premiere shows 13 further cartoon blockbusters that make the hearts of children and adults beat faster alike, first and foremost “Through the Hedge” (25.11., 18:30 hrs, Premiere 1), which won three Annies this year. In the DreamWorks hit, turtle

Verne, raccoon Richie and their friends are quite astonished when a huge hedge suddenly runs through their forest. The cute little animals suspect large food supplies in the human settlement behind it. In “Cars” (24.11., 18:30 hrs, Disney Channel), which also made it into the top 10 of the world’s most successful cinema films in 2006, the souped-up sports car Lightning McQueen falls off the transporter on the way to an important race and lands in a remote village on Route 66. There he learns important lessons for his further asphalted path through life.

In the Disney production “Meet the Robinsons” (24./25.11., around the clock, Premiere Direkt), the inventive 12-year-old orphan boy Lewis undertakes a journey through time into the future to get to the bottom of a family secret. The imaginative story is based on the illustrated

children’s book “A Day With Wilbur Robinson” by William Joyce, which is very popular in the USA. Premiere’s cartoon fireworks are rounded off with a special programme (24.11., 19:55 hrs, Premiere 1) in which presenter Tamara Sedmak presents exciting background stories on the cartoons and above all the main film “Ice Age 2 – Now It’s Thawing”.
