Registered Corel users can now purchase an update for Ulead MovieFactory 6 Plus: The HD Power Pack makes it possible to edit HD content from AVCHD and HDV camcorders as well as from recorded HDTV programs and burn it to standard DVDs with a conventional DVD burner. Output is also possible to Blu-ray Disc or HD-DVD, including motion and HD DVD pop-up menus created with the HD Power Pack. With the HD Power Pack, users benefit from the additional option of importing MPEG2 Transport Stream (m2ts) files directly from AVCHD camcorders. Registered users can now purchase the update at http://www.ulead.de/dmf/plugin.htm at a price of 14,99 euros (including value-added tax).
The new functions of the HD Power Pack at a glance:
AVCHD creation – HD content from AVCHD and HDV camcorders or other HD sources can be edited and burned to standard DVDs with a conventional burner.
AVCHD discs with menus enable exact playback of HD videos on PCs, Blu-ray players, Sony PlayStation 3 or disc-based AVCHD camcorders.
Support for all standard screen sizes such as SD screen sizes, HD 1440×1080 to 1920×1080 and Phase Alternation Line (PAL) and NTSC systems.
The audio formats also include Linear Pulse Code Modulation (LPCM) and Dolby 2.0 and 5.1.
Import of m2ts (Transport Stream)
Users can import videos directly from the hard drive or memory card of AVCHD camcorders. It is also possible to open m2ts files that were copied to the hard drive with other programs.
Creation of Blu-ray Disc Movie Videos (BDMV) – The update makes it possible to create HD productions in MPEG 2 HD format including HD motion menus and burn them to Blu-ray Discs.
BD support standard screen formats from 720×480 to 1920×1080 as well as PAL-and NTSC systems. Compatible video data such as HDV are not rendered again, therefore the image quality is outstanding. Faster encoding is also possible. Support for Dolby 2.0, 5.1 audio formats and both single- and dual-layer discs.
Creation of HD Advanced – HD DVD productions can now be enhanced with interactive HD DVD Advanced menus, meaning „Type 2″. „Advanced” menus are visible over the video to select another chapter or another title.
Users can play HD DVDs with suitable HD DVD playback software on HD DVD players, Xbox 360 HD DVD players or PC HD DVD drives. HD DVD on standard DVD – Users can now create HD DVD productions with motion menus and burn them to standard DVD.
There is now a special process for creating HD DVDs on standard DVDs. Support for single DVDs, meaning 4.7 GB, and dual-layer DVDs, meaning 8.5 GB. If users select a disc size, the capacity indicator shows how much space is available on the disc. HD DVDs on standard DVDs can be played with the corresponding playback software on all HD-DVD players, Xbox 360 HD DVD players or normal PCs with DVD drives.
Patch 2 for bug fixing included – The bugs in MovieFactory 6 Plus have been eliminated.
