For the first time, the HD Expo will take place within the INSIGHT OUT/HFF Academy 2008 symposium (March 10 to 15, 2008) organised by HFF Potsdam, offering a practical insight into digital filmmaking. On March 11 and 12, participants can test the new technology and gain experience with it in a complete digital production chain set up at the HFF, from a set with seven cameras – including the Sony F23 and Red One – through digital editing and colour-correction systems to creation of the DCP (digital cinema package). The INSIGHT OUT experts will also be available for personal discussions.
The following equipment will be demonstrated and will be available for testing on site:
Canon XLH1 with P+S Adapter Mini35c, Panasonic AJ-HPX3000 & HVX200 (recording on P2 cards), RedOne, Sony F23 (recording on HD Cam SR) & PMWEX1, Fujinon lenses, Codex Digital Portable Recorder, DVC Megacine, Avid DS Nitris, Avid Media Composer, Quantel IQ, Quantel Pablo, DVC ClipDisk 3D Server, Kinoton DCP70 2K Projector, JVC HD monitors, Panasonic plasma monitors, TV Logic monitors.
The RedOne camera in particular has caused quite a stir in the industry and was used on a shoot in Germany for the first time in January – in the hands of HFF graduate and INSIGHT OUT speaker Stefan Grandinetti. This is not the only reason why Prof. Martin Steyer, Vice President of the HFF and Programme Director of INSIGHT OUT, is looking forward to the event with great excitement: “We are proud to present a complete digital workflow publicly and make it possible to experience it in practice for the first time in the region with the HD Expo.”
INSIGHT OUT is organised by the University of Film and Television (HFF) “Konrad Wolf” and supported by the EU through the MEDIA programme. Partners of the international HFF Academy INSIGHT OUT are Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg GmbH and the European Broadcasting Union. Renowned companies have been secured as sponsors.
All interested filmmakers can now register free of charge for the HD Expo at http://www.insightout-training.net!
