DigitalBox Europe is releasing the Imperial DB 1 CI HDMI, a Common Interface satellite receiver with HDMI output and upscaling.
The HDMI connection carries digital audio and video directly to an LCD television, plasma display or projector, avoiding conversion through an analogue SCART connection before subsequent digital processing.
The receiver also provides an eight-character alphanumeric vacuum fluorescent display, two SCART connections, optical and electrical S/PDIF outputs, a Common Interface slot for subscription television and RS-232.
Upscaling supports 576p, 720p and 1080i. The unit stores 5,000 channels and provides 32 favourite lists, eight timer slots, teletext, blind-scan tuning, a channel-list editor and parental controls.
The Imperial DB 1 CI HDMI is available immediately at a recommended retail price of €99.95.
