ESL Pro Series Starts Sixth Season

The sixth season of the ESL Pro Series for Austria and Switzerland begins with its first matches.

Organiser Skill3D and its partners are launching the latest competition for leading esports players in Austria and Switzerland.

Intel Friday Night Games will take place several times during the season in different cities. At each event, the ESL will present leading matches in each discipline live to audiences of up to 500 people.

Presenters comment on and analyse the matches, while competitions and partner stands supplement the programme. ESL TV, the organisation’s IPTV esports channel, will stream the season’s Intel Friday Night Games live. The ESL Pro Series concludes with two days of finals in June, expected to attract more than 700 spectators.

“Last season showed that esports is established as a spectator event in Austria and Switzerland,” says Peter Inmann, spokesperson for Vienna league operator Skill3D. “Increasing numbers of visitors attend Intel Friday Night Games to celebrate esports live. The new record for prize money is due to the ESL Pro Series partners Intel and ASUS. Their support demonstrates growing interest in the computer-gaming audience.”
