Megapixelig, a blog for photographers and illustrators belonging to Creative Weblogging, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic blog media networks, regularly uses iStockphoto stock material to enrich its many photography articles visually. Megapixelig covers topics including black-and-white photography, geocaching, Creative Commons and Photoshop editing of eyes, and also publishes competitions.

“We are particularly pleased to have secured iStockphoto, one of the most important communities and providers of stock material, as a partner,” said Torsten Jacobi, founder and director of Creative Weblogging. “Compelling imagery is naturally indispensable for a blog about photography and illustration. The creative artists at iStockphoto offer the full range of subjects, effects and settings needed to make articles more informative and engaging.”

Through its cooperation with the German-language blog, iStockphoto reinforces its position in the German market, for which it had already laid the foundation with the German website http://deutsch.istockphoto.com. Its partnership with Megapixelig also continues iStockphoto’s strategy of supporting emerging artists. At http://www.megapixelig.de, iStockphoto members can find valuable information to improve their creative skills. This aligns closely with iStockphoto’s approach: the company introduces new members to the essential aspects of good stock photography through a training manual on its website, organizes numerous competitions and regularly holds iStockalypses, where members can demonstrate and further improve their skills in professional shoots.

“Like Megapixelig, the iStockphoto community is distinguished by the lively exchange among numerous creative people,” said Kelly Thompson, Executive Vice President of iStockphoto. “From the outset, our philosophy has included not only continually expanding our offering, but also creatively supporting and developing our members. Megapixelig is a highly successful weblog that follows the same idea. While artists receive useful information there, we also give them the opportunity to earn income from their work on iStockphoto.”

Creative Weblogging is also one of the first companies to use iStockphoto’s newly introduced Corporate Accounts terms. Under this model, companies can purchase large quantities of credits in a package, with a specified number available for use each day. In addition to a lower unit price, benefits include the ability to create subaccounts. More information is available at http://www.istockphoto.com/corporate-accounts.php.
