LaCie introduced the LaCie Hard Disk MAX storage system. It provides high capacity and is suitable for PC and Mac users who want data security through advanced RAID technology without sacrificing the ease of use and elegance of a consumer device. Offering 2 TB of highly reliable storage capacity and an impressive appearance, the LaCie Hard Disk MAX was designed exclusively for LaCie by product designer Neil Poulton. The device therefore meets the high performance requirements of demanding users.
The LaCie Hard Disk MAX contains two high-capacity hard drives that can easily be configured as RAID 0 or RAID 1 using a switch on the back. In RAID 0, data is striped across both drives for the fastest possible access. In RAID 1, mirroring ensures both drives contain identical data for maximum reliability.
“Our LaCie Hard Disk MAX is the ideal mass-storage product for users who value high performance and data security,” said Lise Manteau, Product Manager for Consumer Hard Drives at LaCie. “Its elegant design and ease of use, combined with its affordable price, make the device attractive to users who need ever more storage capacity.”
The two high-speed hard drives, each with 1 TB of capacity, can easily be configured in the desired RAID setting. The LaCie Hard Disk MAX also includes LaCie Setup Assistant for fast, easy and customizable drive formatting. Genie Backup Assistant for PCs and Intego Backup Assistant for Macs are also provided.
The USB 2.0 expansion port on the front of the glossy deep-black enclosure can connect an additional external hard drive for data backups. The stylish blue LED strip emits diffuse light and changes to red if potential problems arise.
Hard Disk MAX buyers receive access to the exclusive LaCie One Year Unlimited Online Backup service, allowing them to create unlimited online backups for one year from installation.
