The Game Developers Conference Europe (GDC Europe), organized by Think Services, begins today at Koelnmesse’s Cologne Congress East Center and will keep the game-development industry occupied until Wednesday, August 19. GDC Europe is Europe’s largest B2B event for video-game developers and offers all participants an excellent platform for exchanging ideas with colleagues and friends, inspiring one another and making new contacts in a relaxed atmosphere. The three-day event offers an exceptional line-up of keynotes, presentations, discussion and conversation sessions, and other meetings examining the industry’s current subjects and developments. This year’s GDC Europe focuses on business, game design, programming and visual arts.

Held in close temporal and spatial connection with the premiere of gamescom, Europe’s leading trade fair for consumers, publishers and retailers in the games industry, GDC Europe serves the game-developer sector with more than 130 speakers from around the world, 40 exhibitors and more than 150 accredited media representatives.

“We are very proud and happy to open the doors of GDC Europe here in Cologne and thereby stage our first international event specifically for the European game-developer scene,” says Frank Sliwka, Vice President European Business Development at Think Services Game Group. “We have an incredibly strong line-up of keynote speakers, all of whom are pioneers in Europe, as well as an exceptional list of speakers addressing present and future industry subjects in Europe and worldwide.”

The GDC Europe keynotes will be delivered by Matias Myllyrinne of Remedy, developer of Max Payne and Alan Wake; Hilmar Pétursson of Eve Online developer CCP; Cevat Yerli of Crytek, creator of Far Cry and Crysis; Klaas Kersting of Gameforge, the German market leader in online games; and David Cage of Quantic Dream, developer of Hevy Rain.
