LaCie announces what it says is the safest mobile hard drive currently available on the market: the LaCie Rugged Safe. The model protects data at several levels. LaCie Rugged Safe offers fully secure 128-bit AES hardware encryption, rated highly secure by government agencies, one of the safest technologies for biometric fingerprint authentication, and an extremely shock-resistant enclosure.
LaCie Rugged Safe is designed for users who travel frequently and value a high level of data protection. The model offers power through bus or FireWire and is compatible with Mac and PC. While comparable products require software installation on every workstation, Rugged Safe has plug-and-play functionality. After configuration, it gives users access to their data on any computer with a single touch of the fingerprint sensor.
With 128-bit AES encryption and biometric fingerprint recognition preventing unauthorised access, LaCie Rugged Safe is more than just a high-quality mobile-storage solution. Professional users can protect their sensitive files to a very high level and share them with up to ten other registered users.
“LaCie Rugged Safe was developed so that professional and private users can protect their important data and intellectual property from theft and unauthorised access,” says Erwan Girard, Business Unit Manager at LaCie. “We combined several technologies to ensure this device is the safest mobile-storage solution – a true vault for sensitive data.”
Like the award-winning LaCie Rugged Hard Drives series, Rugged Safe was designed by world-famous designer Neil Poulton. Thanks to its rubber shock protection and internal hard drive mounted on four independent suspension points, Rugged Safe is shock-resistant and offers maximum reliability and the highest level of data protection.
Rugged Safe has a three-year warranty and is supplied with the user-friendly and easily customisable LaCie Backup Assistant software for Mac and PC.
