Houdini is a 3D animation package developed by Side Effects Software in Toronto. The main difference from other packages is its procedural approach – content is described mathematically within a framework and generated by the software. This naturally makes Houdini the Swiss Army knife on an animation artist’s computer. A free training version for non-commercial use is available for download.
