The climate-protection program to offset CO2 emissions was originally launched in November 2010 for Panasonic’s professional projector division. With “Offset For Life,” Panasonic customers can offset the CO2 emissions resulting from use of their projectors and displays, thereby reducing their net contribution to climate change.
Panasonic displays covering screen diagonals from 106 cm (42 inches) to 386 cm (152 inches) are used in a wide range of applications, for example in Digital Out-Of-Home (DOOH), Point of Sale (POS) and Point of Information (POI) systems, or in rental and presentation installations.
To reduce the environmental burden of recycling or waste disposal, Panasonic’s professional displays are manufactured without lead and mercury, the company explains.
When purchasing a professional display from a retailer, customers can optionally choose to participate in Panasonic’s climate-protection program, the manufacturer continues. They can also combine the emissions offset made possible by this program with their own company’s CO2-reduction goals or with their “Corporate Social Responsibility” initiatives.
The relevant project emissions can be calculated online at http://www.panasonic-offset.eu. Customers can also order their program participation directly from Panasonic and subsequently receive a certificate confirming the emissions offset for the relevant project, according to the company.
