The node-based tool is intended to let artists create shaders in RenderMan quickly and easily without programming work. ShaderBox is aimed at 3D artists as well as technical directors and shader writers.
According to Pantheon Studios, the interface with its Cairo-based canvas has been further optimised. The toolbar is said to feature navigation functions such as a zoom selection, while the panels can be docked, minimised or maximised. The interface is also now said to allow multiple shader creation.
A live preview of the shaders currently being edited, a connection manager and an attribute manager are said to be further core features of ShaderBox 1.0.
ShaderBox is still available for 149 dollars until the end of April. Here is the link.
