The almost 25 cm high set of Stark Trek Enterprise consists of cardboard and paper and was built by Jürgen Kaiser. The predecessor film “The Time Mirror” was completed in 2008. One day of filming with the stop-motion process ultimately produced 2 seconds of film time – a true test of patience that only true fans can pass. The exterior scenes were created with 3D animation.
For the second film, “The Beginning of the End”, Kaiser’s standards have risen – for the story, the stop-motion work, the image quality and the speakers. The filmmaker uses a Canon 50D for the HD-quality images. The stop-motion sequences are realised with the software Stop Motion Pro.
