Press Release – Cancellation of FMX 2020
Ludwigsburg/Stuttgart, 6 March 2020.
It is with great regret that we must inform you that this year’s FMX, planned for 5 to 8 May 2020, cannot take place due to the continuing worldwide spread of the coronavirus.
Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg is acting here in accordance with the currently applicable guidelines of the Robert Koch Institute for risk assessment at major events. After consultation, Stuttgart’s Office of Public Order considers the decision to cancel FMX against this background plausible in the interests of infection prevention.
This step was very difficult for all of us, but it was necessary because the health of our international and national partners, guests, speakers, visitors and our employees is our top priority.
We hope for your understanding and would be delighted to welcome you to the 25th anniversary edition of FMX from 4 to 7 May 2021 in Stuttgart.
Warm regards
Prof. Thomas Schadt (Managing Director of Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg), Prof. Andreas Hykade (Conference Chair FMX), Heike Mozer, Joachim Genannt and the FMX team.
