Delivery of FASTstudio version 2.55 and the FX option!

The new FASTstudio version 2.55 and the FX software option for 3D effects are now available.

“QuickTime Codecs”, “XSend an… “* and “Fuse Sequence “* are the highlights of the current version.

Other features include DVCPRO support* and Video Machine DBF import. The FASTstudio 2.55 software update for silver, purple and purple.Field can be obtained free of charge and only directly from FAST (FAST Info Centre on 0180-525 50 26).

The software options silver.FX, purple.FX and purple.Field FX are available from authorised FAST partners at a price of DM 1,980 each (excl. VAT).

New features of FASTstudio 2.55:

  • QuickTime codecsThe media file formats from silver (MPEG-2 and uncompressed) can be edited directly in any QuickTime-capable application without conversion using the QuickTime codecs included in FASTstudio 2.55. For example, the files can be opened directly in Adobe After Effects and saved again in their native format. This avoids any loss of time and/or quality. The DV file format (.dif) from purple is already included in QuickTime.
  • XSend to…The “XSend to …” function enables the fast and direct transfer of clips, containers and sequences from FAST-studio to applications such as Adobe After Effects for compositing or effects editing, or to encoding applications such as Terrans Media Cleaner, e.g. for creating streaming files.

    FASTstudio currently contains predefined interfaces to Adobe After Effects and Terran Media Cleaner. There is also the option of integrating any other application directly with “XSend to others”. The functionality can also be customised using a freely available SDK for the respective applications.

  • Fuse SequenceFAST’s own “Fuse Sequence” function merges all media files of a sequence or a section of a sequence into a single file. This can be used, for example, to operate a playout server via the network or simply to create a video/audio mixdown for further processing in FASTstudio, as a backup or similar. Fuse is a pure copying process and is therefore correspondingly fast and completely loss-free.
  • DVCPRO supportDVCPRO is supported at the input and output via the silver.DV hardware option. purple and purple.Field are now able to process DVCPRO 25 natively in addition to the native DV and DVCAM formats. This means that corresponding peripheral devices can also be used in DVCPRO format.
  • Further featuresWith the new software version, Video Machine users can import their Video Machine project database into FASTstudio projects via DBF import and continue editing.

    Another feature enables simple and direct ALE import/export of projects* via a standardised interface. This allows FASTstudio systems to be integrated into an extended network environment, e.g. content management systems.

    New software option for 3D effects

    The integration of the 3D editor in addition to the 2D editor in FAST-studio now makes it possible to position the image in the Z-plane.

    There is also a predefined page turn, which can also be customised in each parameter. Both effects can be used as a clip effect or as a transition and also contain all the parameters of the 2D editor. Chromakeying optimised for green backgrounds is possible with the Green Screen Editor. Various parameters can be set to optimise the key. The existing Blue Screen Keyer has been extended by the same parameters.

    The new software version 2.55 can now be ordered free of charge directly from FAST Multimedia. silver.FX, purple.FX and purple.Field FX are available immediately from authorised FAST partners.
