Digital Broadcast Systems GmbH of Oberursel took over distribution and support for Animo, the animation system from the British developer Cambridge Animation Systems, with immediate effect.
Animo was a comprehensive package for creating hand-drawn-style animation for film, television series, advertising and computer games. It was available for Windows NT and 2000 as well as Mac OS X.
First released in 1990, the system had more than 3,000 installations worldwide and was described as an industry standard for professional 2D animation. The German animated feature The Little Polar Bear had recently been completed entirely with Animo.
Distribution and support were provided by DBS GmbH.
