Munich, 3 September 2002. Hahn Film selected NXN Alienbrain for future productions, beginning with the animated feature SimsalaGrimm. The Berlin studio used the system to manage image data and project progress.
The film was based on the television series inspired by Grimm’s fairy tales, which had aired in roughly 130 countries. About 30 employees stored work centrally and documented revisions so that production status could be monitored.
Gerhard Hahn, Chairman of Hahn Film, said project management and professional data handling were essential in digital production. Alienbrain automated routine file-management tasks and supplied information needed to keep the project on schedule.
Unlike archive-oriented asset systems, Alienbrain managed data from concept through approval and compared production progress with project plans.

Founded by Gerhard Hahn in 1980 and based in Berlin since 1992, the studio produced features including Werner – Beinhart! and Asterix in America, along with television series, commercials, music videos and games.
Alienbrain remains a visual version-control product. The production combined asset management, animation and workflow.
