Edirol introduced the DV-7PR as a real-time video and audio sampler for live performance and on-demand presentations.

Analogue or digital camera feeds could be recorded to the internal hard drive, edited and added to a video database. Operators could trigger clips once or in loops and create real-time crossfades between two video streams.

The system provided direct access to as many as 640 clips per project. Control options included mouse and keyboard, the DV7-C hardware controller, RS-232C and MIDI triggers. The listed price was €8,490.

Edirol was a Roland brand; current professional video products are available from Roland Pro A/V. The product is part of the live-production and video-editing archives.
