Pinnacle Systems announced InstantCopy and InstantCD/DVD for release in February 2003. Both products used technology acquired from Dortmund DVD specialist VOB.
InstantCopy backed up CDs and DVDs and could fit a 9 GB DVD film onto a 4.7 GB recordable disc. For unprotected DVDs, it retained menus, languages, audio tracks, features and bonus material in a full disc copy.
InstantCD/DVD combined data, audio and video disc creation with Pinnacle Expression for archiving photographs and video to Video CD or DVD. It supported video, MP3 and audio compilations, DVD authoring, backups and CD/DVD copying.
InstantCopy was scheduled for early February at €49 including VAT. InstantCD/DVD was due later that month at €69 including VAT.
