Pinnacle Systems scheduled InstantCopy and InstantCD/DVD for release in February 2003. Both disc-writing products were based on technology acquired from Dortmund specialist VOB.
InstantCopy could compress a 9 GB DVD film to a 4.7 GB recordable disc. It retained menus, languages, audio tracks, features and bonus material when copying unprotected DVDs; CSS-encrypted titles were not supported.
InstantCD/DVD combined data and audio burning with Pinnacle Expression for archiving digital photos and videos to Video CD or DVD. The suite supported video, MP3 and audio compilations, DVD creation, backups and disc copying.
InstantCopy was due in early February for €49 including VAT. InstantCD/DVD was scheduled for the end of the month at €69 including VAT.
