Rasterizers allowed television engineers and editors to measure analogue and digital standard-definition signals. The Tektronix WVR600 was designed around the limited rack space of modern broadcast and production facilities, combining video and audio quality monitoring in a one-rack-unit chassis.
The fully digital instrument generated a 1024 × 786 display on an external monitor. It accepted two standard-definition SDI inputs and two composite inputs, with options for analogue audio, AES/EBU digital audio including embedded channels, or both.
Its FlexVu multi-screen display could show up to four signal views at once. Tektronix positioned the unit as a compact way to retain detailed measurement and flexible monitoring without consuming additional rack or console space.
