Canopus announced ACEDVio, an OHCI-based video-editing solution with analogue and DV inputs and outputs, native OHCI support, and compatibility with common video cameras and recorders including VHS, S-VHS, Hi-8, Digital8, DV and DVCAM. Canopus DV codec technology handles image processing, while Locked Audio technology is designed to maintain video and audio synchronisation.
ACEDVio ships with the full version of Sonic Foundry Vegas 4.0, an integrated real-time video and audio production application for multitrack mixing, compositing, colour correction, titling, streaming-media encoding and 5.1-channel surround production. It also includes Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2.0 SE for DVD authoring.
The hardware supports editing applications including Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Edition, iMovie, Ulead MediaStudio Pro, Windows Movie Maker and Xpress DV. ACEDVio also provides connections for storage devices, CD-RW drives, scanners and digital still cameras.
ACEDVio supports Macintosh and Windows systems and was scheduled to become available through authorised Canopus dealers at the end of May for a recommended retail price of €589.
