Smoke systems combined editing, conforming and finishing with multiformat support. Discreet cited HDTV productions including The Practice and The Sopranos as users of its editing systems.
An Octane-based Smoke SD system cost €37,000 with a qualifying NLE trade-in. A fully configured Smoke SD package started at €89,000 and included four hours of SD storage, a tablet and one year of support.
European customers included Arc Facilities in Glasgow and Online Video in Zurich. The Shock Your System programme ran until 18 July 2003. Pricing, storage and support terms should be verified before production use.
