DVC introduced Baytech CineRAM as a removable RAM recorder positioned between high-resolution digital cameras and downstream recording or editing systems.
Camera-mounted digital magazine
The module docked to a camera like a film magazine and captured its signal at the press of a button. A full pack could be exchanged for an empty one while its data was transferred to a VTR, disk recorder or nonlinear editor.
Single-Link and Dual-Link recording
CineRAM supported Single-Link HD-SDI, Dual-Link HD-SDI and dual Single-Link connections for 3D applications. Available memory capacities ranged from 8 to 64 GB, with mobile uncompressed 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 HD capture among the intended workflows.
DVC planned a European demonstration on 8 and 9 July 2003. Current camera, signal, storage and power compatibility should be tested before production use.
