Discreet has announced Combustion 4, adding broader interoperability, revised interfaces and performance improvements.
The release includes the Diamond Keyer, previously available in Discreet’s high-end systems, and a new Time-Warp operator for changing clip timing. Vector painting gains B-spline shapes and point grouping, while Fast Gaussian Blur is intended to accelerate blur operations.
Customers can assemble and share Capsules containing operators, settings and footage. A Gbuffer Builder creates G-buffer channels, and the Merge operator combines multiple layers in a single operation. Discreet has also revised the user interface.
Import and export support has been extended to formats including ASE, WM and OpenEXR. The release also adds colouring tools and can read Discreet Stone files.
A full licence costs 1,392 euros, while the upgrade costs 348 euros.
