The JVC Tokyo Video Festival – according to the organiser, the world’s largest video competition – is now accepting entries: Works from all fields and in every style are accepted for the competition, from the home-video field to art and experimental videos or short video mails. The entry length should not exceed 20 minutes.
The best works are rewarded with cash and non-cash prizes. The “Video Grand Prix”, the festival’s main prize, is endowed with 500,000 Japanese yen (around 3,800 euros), a hard-disk camcorder and a round trip through Japan.
The aim of the festival, founded in 1978, is to encourage participants to explore the possibilities of the video medium for conveying personal messages and to further develop its artistic forms of expression.
