Bauhaus Software has presented a mobile workstation for 2D artists: Mirage Nomad consists of a Tablet PC and the company’s own 2D animation and storyboarding system Mirage. The combination is intended to enable artists to draw, paint and animate anywhere: Bauhaus speaks of an “animation studio in a backpack”.

Mirage Nomad is based on the Motion Computing LE1600 Tablet PC, which is equipped with a Pentium M processor (1.5 GHz), 1 GByte RAM (expandable), a 30 GByte hard disk (replaceable) and wireless LAN functionality. With the help of the Nomad solution, artists can work in both the classical and digital styles, the provider promises.

The recommended retail price for the hardware/software package amounts to US$2,995.
