The Bonn-based publisher Galileo Press has developed new learning courses on design topics that will be released at the beginning of August. The video lessons on DVD are supplemented by printable tutorials in text form. The user can virtually look over the shoulder of an experienced trainer as in a real training course and directly follow how to use a program, the publisher promises.
Another special feature of the new video training courses is the so-called “live mode”: In parallel with the course, which runs in a reduced-size window, the viewer can recreate the trainer’s practice example directly in their program. Through the combination of different media and ways of learning – watching, listening, participating, reading – the Galileo video training courses are intended to ensure especially easy and lasting learning success.
The first learning courses are devoted to the topics Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Mac OS X, the Creative Suite and the field of digital photography. They cost between around 20 and 40 euros.
