Euro1080, Europe’s first channel broadcasting exclusively in HD, and its affiliated production company Alfacam are purchasing HD equipment and services from Sony worth around €3.25 million.
As announced at the show, the purchase includes HDCAM SR portable cameras, XPRI editing solutions, studio tape machines and flat-panel monitors from the LMD range. The contract also includes training for Euro1080/Alfacam’s technical staff by Sony Professional Services.
Euro1080 CEO Gabriel Fehervari expects a wave of affordable HDTV receivers this season to further increase viewers’ demand for HD content.
