British digital compositing specialist The Pixel Farm announced the PFPlay 2.0 film previsualization system at IBC. The central building block of the new release is the Project Manager, which is intended to ensure a smooth workflow in multi-project environments. Projects can be managed via Remote Access using an HTML-based client, allowing users to add clips to a Vault via Web Browser regardless of platform. According to the manufacturer, the integration of Cross Platform Batch Processing enables a large number of clips to be imported without the system’s performance suffering. Various clip and sequence history tools ensure that users can manage different project versions and compare them via View Switching.
With the new Smart Cache technology, each clip is cached only once. Other new features include a sequence browser, an improved storage and filing structure, quality assurance tools, as well as 64-bit support and Direct DPX File Format Support. PFPlay is available now at a price of 3,699 euros. The upgrade costs 725 euros.
In addition to PFMatch 2.0, The Pixel Farm is presenting PFClip 1.0. The RAM-based clip player processes footage in 2k 10-bit uncompressed and costs 299 euros. The company is also showing the PFMatch 2.0 tracking software for Shake and the PFClean 1.0 image-processing tool in Suite B12 at IBC.
