With a new name, the former short-film section of the Stuttgart Ludwigsburg Film Festival is entering its seventh round. In order to emphasize its independence and two-year cycle more clearly, the choice fell on “European Short Film Biennale Ludwigsburg.” The term biennale represents the festival’s profile of showing artistically high-quality short films by young European directors that reflect European worlds of life and everyday events. As in recent years, the venue is the campus of the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, which as a cooperation partner also supports the Short Film Biennale.
Directors up to the age of 35 can apply with their short films – maximum length 35 minutes – for the short-film competition organized by co-organizer Wüstenrot Foundation. The deadline for film submissions is June 1, 2005.
