Flickering pixels on the screen, flashing bytes on the cinema screen and a glow in the eyes included! In Berlin, the Berlin multimedia association interface!berlin, the company network of the information, communications and media industry media.net berlinbrandenburg and the agency area42 are jointly organizing the Internet Film Fest Webcuts 04+05.
For the fourth time, the best short films produced for or shown on the Internet will be presented.
This time, not only media enthusiasts in Berlin, but also creatives worldwide can be there via a live broadcast on the Internet. After the films are presented, a high-caliber jury will honor the best entries. In addition, visitors on site and participants in the Live Streaming can also vote for the audience award.
Professional Software Packages with a total value of around 15,000 euros await the winners. Among other things, Mental Images is donating ten licenses of Mental Ray, while Alias is donating versions of Maya.
“We have once again received a great many interesting, exciting, artistic, funny, experimental and technically very sophisticated submissions from all over the world this year,” explains Eckhard Jäger, co-founder of Webcuts and Creativ Director of the agency area42. “Webcuts is the place where Internet films from all over the world are made accessible in bundled form. What looks good on the screen often looks even better on the cinema screen! What moved in 2004/05, how have the medium, creators and films evolved? Which themes and motifs have moved to the foreground? Webcuts 04+05 will provide answers to these questions.”
