With the “Coke light Photo Edition Award,” Coca-Cola honors press photos that convey the theme “optimism” in a particularly forceful or artistic way. Motifs are sought and honored that have a positive, optimistic statement, thereby stand out from the multitude of negative news and interpret the theme of the new Coke light campaign “Live life light.” The competition is aimed at staff and freelance photojournalists. According to information from the organizer, it is “largely irrelevant” whether a press motif has already been published or not.
Among all submissions, Coca-Cola light, together with a jury made up of the heads of the picture departments of Bild, dpa Bilderdienst, Financial Times Deutschland, IQ Style and Stern, selects three press motifs, each of which will be rewarded with 5,000 euros. The winning photos are then intended to attract attention on the 0.2-liter contour bottles of the limited “Coca-Cola light Photo Edition.”
Further information and the application documents can be found on the Coke light website. The closing date for submissions is January 31, 2006.
