Sonic has expanded its High Definition Authoring Alliance (HDAA), which has existed since July 2005, with a so-called “Advisory Group,” the HDAA-AG.

While only manufacturers of authoring software for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray as well as authoring houses were represented in the HDAA, the Advisory Group now expands this circle to include manufacturers of end devices for the new DVD generation.

The HDAA-AG includes companies such as Sony, Pioneer, Samsung and LG.

Through this cooperation with manufacturers of consumer end devices, Sonic hopes for a smooth transition to the new media generation and better quality assurance for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray devices.
