With the Weisscam HS1 (named after its developer Stefan Weiss), P+S Technik presents a high-speed camera developed in-house. The camera consists of two components: the camera itself with a control monitor and a control unit, a laptop.
The camera handles resolutions of up to 1,280 x 1,024 pixels at a color depth of 24 bits. Exposure and frame rate are freely adjustable and speed ramps are also possible. At full resolution, the maximum frame rate is 650 frames per second, but with a sufficiently small image, according to the manufacturer, a maximum of 5,000 frames per second is possible. The frame rate can still be changed during recording, or preprogrammed speed ramps can be used instead.
The recording chip has a sensitivity of 160 ASA and a monochrome color depth of 10 bits. For color recordings, 8 bits per color are available. P+S Technik distributes the Weisscam directly. The company gives prices on request.
The second new product is the Skater Scope, a periscope lens that is extremely stable due to its compact dimensions and insensitive to vibrations when remote controls are used. The lens is available for PL and Panavision mounts on the one hand, but on the other hand it can also be connected to video cameras with a B4 camera mount.
The lens can be rotated a full 360 degrees. A lateral pan from -105 degrees to +105 degrees is possible without moving the camera. Rotating the lens allows the camera image to be rotated a full 360 degrees without moving the camera itself. P+S also gives the lens price only on request.
