At a press conference in Linz, the organizers announced the jury’s decisions for this year’s “Prix Ars Electronica.” The Austrian competition traditionally honors a very broad spectrum of media art. Starting with computer animation and VFX, through digital music, to interactive art and Digital Communities.
The winners in the six main categories are:
Computer Animation / Visual Effects
The short film “458nm” by Ilija Brunck, Tom Weber and Jan Blitzer (Film Academy Baden Württemberg).
Digital Musics
“L`îIe re-sonante” by Eliane Radigue.
Interactive Art
The installation “The Messenger” by Paul DeMarinis.
Net Vision
“The Road Movie” by the Japanese artist group exonemo.
Digital Communities
“canal*ACCESSIBLE” developed by a team led by Antoni Abad.
u19 – freestyle computing youth competition
“Adventure-Commute” by Alexander Niederklapfer, David and Magdalena Wurm, as well as Ehrentraud Hager (between 13 and 15 years old) from Linz.
