Media Week Berlin-Brandenburg builds on the successful concept of the previous year and brings together under one roof various high-profile industry events taking place at the same time in Berlin-Brandenburg. By linking the Media Forum (August 30 to September 1), IFA 2006 (September 1 to 6), M100 Sanssouci Colloquium (September 8 to 9), Media Summit, Media Night and numerous other industry events, it is the central platform for industry communication in the capital region and a meeting point for the media industry at the start of the season after the summer break.

The venue is the European School of Management and Technology (esmt), the former State Council building of the GDR at Berlin’s Schlossplatz. During the three-day event, representatives of companies that operate in the market with different business models discuss the transformation in the media landscape from their respective perspectives: New competitors, new distribution channels, new content and formats. In parallel, subjects with a strong connection to the location are explored in depth, such as the future of radio, the international news business, current issues in film policy and sports. International collaborative events such as the European Forum for Mobile TV 2006 and the Eurovision Creative Forum supplement the programme.

A day ticket costs 100 euros, and the permanent ticket including admission to the Media Night costs 250 euros. Day-accredited attendees pay 150 euros to participate in the Media Night.
