At the IBC, Media100 is presenting version 11.5 of its software of the same name, which the developers had completed shortly before the trade show. It now supports DV25 via Firewire and Panasonic’s P2 standard. The system processes both formats natively, which considerably simplifies the workflow compared with version 11.
Thanks to the update, existing HDx customers can now record embedded SDI audio during capture. The update is available to customers immediately free of charge.
From version 11.5, Media100 will now also be offered as a software-only version: The new product is called Media100 Producer and contains all the features of the large Media100 systems, but comes without video hardware. Producer is to be available from September 28, 2006, and cost 795 dollars. For existing Media100 customers, the price is reduced to 249 dollars.
