One day before the start of the IBC, Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) gave the green light for the new installed Sched Player automation system from VCS: With the operational handover at the Düsseldorf regional studio, the broadcaster also took another step towards a self-operated studio.
The Sched Player for video processing is a flexible and easy-to-handle single-server playout automation system for direct playout. At WDR’s regional studio, it handles playout control and connects the Apple and Omneon applications. The self-operated studio works in the virtual studio with Vizrt applications.
With the Sched Player and Cart Player, Bochum-based VCS is developing flexible playout options for television studios that have long been everyday practice in radio. The VCS Cart Player is a cartwall solution for video playout with genuine direct access. The broadcast engineer has access to up to 36 clips in one-touch playback mode.
With the Media Pool product line, VCS offers TV broadcasters a complete asset-management solution without a restriction to particular media formats or storage locations. The architecture also allows fully transparent multi-site integrations in which each location can retain its own data holdings locally.
