Plazamedia and TV Skyline presented the Remote-Cam HD1100D in Amsterdam as an “absolute world first.” Measuring 50 mm long and 45 mm wide, the miniature camera delivers images at a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
The two companies developed the Remote-Cam HD1100 jointly. It can be mounted on the Pole-Cam camera crane, among other systems, and therefore offers an alternative to larger camera systems. The miniature camera is intended primarily for sports coverage and can also serve as an in-goal camera. A remote-control panel permits wired or remote adjustment of camera parameters including aperture, colour correction and gamma values.
At IBC, Plazamedia also promoted other components of its camera-motion system, which the Munich company had already used during the 2006 FIFA World Cup. These include Commentary-Cams, the Sports-Cam and the Pylon-Cam. The latter is used as a net camera in volleyball or as a behind-the-goal camera at the 2006 Men’s Hockey World Cup to provide dynamic images.
Plazamedia and TV Skyline also showed a camera track on which the Sports-Cam can accelerate to as much as 160 km/h.
