The Munich company Nanobit has presented a hardware encoder that promises to compress broadcast files losslessly by up to 95 percent.

The BFT Box (Broadcast File Transmission) can be connected directly to the camera’s video output and, according to the manufacturer, is intended to achieve an efficiency of 95 percent when encoding an AVI uncompressed file.

After transfer to the broadcaster’s server, the files can be decoded losslessly.

The BFT Box also has an integrated monitor with which encoding and decoding can be monitored.

Further information about the product can be found on the manufacturer’s website.
