Eyeon had already announced the new version 5.1 of Fusion in June, and now it is also available. Fusion 5.1 is node-based 2D and 3D compositing software.
Among other things, Fusion 5.1 brings new tools for projecting and editing geometry, such as bending and displacement. The OpenGL interface is intended to use the graphics processor more efficiently for rendering the lighting.
The user can import characters, models and scenes in FBX, OBJ and 3DS formats.
In the workspace, Fusion 5.1 allows the user to color elements as desired in order to highlight important areas.
The paint tool now contains the new “Multi-Stroke Cloning” function to accelerate retouching, dust removal and painting.
For rendering, Fusion 5.1 offers the Console Slave as a new render slave. The command-line tool is intended to be easier to integrate into render managers from thrid-party providers.
For owners of Fusion 5, the update is free by download. The update from Fusion 4 continues to cost 495 euros, and the update from DFX+ 4 costs 1,795 euros. The full version comes in at 4,495 euros. In each case excluding value-added tax.
