The submission period for the German Multimedia Award 2007, the competition for exemplary German-language online and offline productions, has begun: until March 23, 2007, agencies, service providers and clients have time to submit their work. As last year, the call for entries comprises a total of ten categories in which trophies are awarded for websites, CD-ROMs and DVDs as well as email campaigns, mobile applications, innovative installations and iTV projects. Also included are the nomination prize “Customer of the Year” and the audience award, for which Internet users can make proposals for the “Best Celebrity Website” in 2007.

A jury with experts from industry, science, media and agencies is intended to vouch for the quality of the award. Individual evaluation feedback enables all participants to position themselves in the competitive environment and allows conclusions to be drawn about their own level of performance and optimisation potential. All nominated entries will be published in the yearbook for the German Multimedia Award, the “Interactive Trends 2007/2008”. In 2006, 50 nominees and 15 prize winners prevailed in a field of participants with more than 350 entries, according to the organiser.

The DMMA 2007 will be presented on June 21 at an evening event on the occasion of the German Multimedia Congress (DMMK) – Digital Economy in Berlin. The setting is provided by the Baden-Württemberg state representation. For the third time, the “Customer of the Year” will then receive a special prize for their extraordinary commitment to IT and interactive projects. The courage and willingness to invest of clients in particular are to be rewarded in this way. Corresponding proposals can be submitted online.

The categories and further information on the competition as well as participation documents are available on the DMMA website. Participation is subject to a fee and costs 250 euros plus value-added tax until February 15, then 300 euros. Members of the Kommunikationsverband or the German Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW) receive a 15 percent discount.
